Jingle Bell Junk Swapin' Good Time!

Miss me?  I know, I know... it's been like, FOREVER since I've written a post!  I've been busy with life, a new career, etc., etc., and have failed at taking photos of my furniture before it goes to someone else's home. Boo me.

But this, THIS is different!  My bloggy BFF's are some of the craftiest peeps I know and I've teamed up with them for the JINGLE BELL JUNK SWAP!  Sounds fun, right?

Well, it sounded fun until I realized that I'm not NEARLY as crafty as this bunch (but I tried!)

My vintage "junk" came from Gwen, Miss BOLD ABODE herself and wasn't junk at all!  I was so excited when I opened my package to find 6 beautiful vintage spools!

Our home has 5 Christmas trees and 2 of them still need decorating, so I envisioned using these spools to make a star for the top of one of the trees!

Adorable!  Of course the rest of the tree needs "sprucing" but this star will serve as the inspiration for my vintage tree.

These girls also have some great ideas, so go check out their craftiness!!

  2. How on earth did you get them to stay that way? I need whatever adhesive you use. But a tree topper? Never would I have thought to use those that way. Vertical items in my world seem to stay vertical. But spiral... never would of thought of that. Clever.

  7. I love the warm, worn wood tone of the spools. They make great inspiration for a vintage tree - can't wait to see what you come up with!
